Operation App-Rehension is a program presented by Prescott Police Department Detectives to help parents and guardians safeguard their teens in a largely online world. Schedule a presentation at your organization today! Empowering guardians, Protecting Teens Operation App-Rehension Contact Info About What is Operation App-Rehension? Operation App-Rehension is an audience driven and constantly evolving social media education seminar focused on giving parents, educators and guardians the tools they need to stay up to date on popular social media and gaming applications. The internet and the age of social media has drastically changed the gateway to the human trafficking pipeline, and the first protections for teenagers against dangerous social media use are the trusted adults in their lives. With social media evolving faster than sometimes even law enforcement can keep up with, this presentation will give you the tools you need to operate the basic user interfaces of many social media and gaming platforms, explain how to set parental controls and show you how to monitor your teen’s social media use in a way that best fits your family or school dynamics. The presentation will also equip attendees with a digital handout that outlines the first red flags of online sexual abuse and human trafficking, and a list of Arizona based and online based resources they can use when encountering digital evidence of abuse on their child’s device. Finally, it provides a list of resources and constructive ways to talk to teenagers and children about healthy social media use. With content that is updated quarterly, this presentation is paramount for those who want to join the fight to keep kids safe on social media. Operation App-Rehension is an educational program created, designed, produced and presented by Detective Lorraine Zannini with the Prescott Arizona Police Department. The presentation began in 2023 after multiple successful sexual predator sting operations were conducted in the Prescott, AZ area and after multiple teenage victims reported physical sexual abuse following online victimization. Det Zannini developed the program knowing police are not the solution to the sextortion, human trafficking and social media threats in our society, but rather the power lies with the parents, teachers, school officers and guardians present in teen's lives every day.
